Search the symptom, not the job title

The searches that surface buyers before they start looking.

The instinct is to search for the thing you sell. "Fractional CFO." "Freelance designer." The people using those words are already in market, already comparing, and already talking to three of your competitors.

Search what it feels like from the inside

Nobody wakes up wanting to hire a bookkeeper. They wake up having spent Sunday reconciling receipts, and they post about that. The gap between the complaint and the search is measured in weeks, and it is the only uncontested space you will find.

Building the search

  • Write down the five sentences a customer said to you before they hired you.
  • Strip out your job title and the industry jargon. Keep their words.
  • Search LinkedIn content — not people, not jobs — for each phrase.
  • Save what fits, hide what does not. The noise shrinks every week.
In Leadhabit: every saved lead remembers the search that produced it, so after a month you can see which phrases produce conversations and which just produce saves.

Start the habit this week.

Install it, run one search, and save five people. That is the whole first session.
